Within the last 5 years, I have had 2 dogs come up missing. Well actually...they were stolen. December 3, 2005, my Sassy dog (part pekingnese, part chihuahua) was taken out of our backyard during the Christmas parade. Almost 1 year later at the end of November 2006, she was found! Thank goodness she had been taken care of. When I moved into my apartment 2 months later, I had to get rid of one of my dogs. I kept Prissy with me, but Sassy went to a better home. My dad & Irene took her. They have taken care of that dog better than I ever could have. She was having heartworm problems & was about to die & they paid for her to have surgery so she could still be with us. Last week, she ended up having to have surgery again...can't exactly remember what Irene said it was for...anyways, she is doing great. I don't get to see her much but I miss her!
Last week, our full blooded black lab went missing. I knew he was there Monday night & Tuesday morning. Well we got to looking for him & wondering where he was. We had a neighbor who was pretty much trying to take care of him. We would feed Remington, then minutes later, he would feed Remington. Well he moved last week, so I asked my aunt that next time she talked to him, would she ask him if he had seen him before he left. Come to find out he STOLE our dog!!! Needless to say he brought him back Friday night! Natalee loves Remy. As soon as we got home & she saw him, she wanted to give me "sugars" & love on him! We brought him inside for a little while so she could play with him.
Why would anyone want to steal someone else's dog, especially when you know that people & know they are taking care of him? Why would someone want to take a dog away from such a precious child?
I'll post pics later!

Dixie National
Mrs. Delma & Mr. Roger took me, Terry & Natalee to the Dixie National Rodeo this past Saturday (well a week ago now...) for our Valentine's Day. Terry got off work that morning & came home to change clothes. We met up with the Mitchell's in Winona about 10:30ish, stopped & got a "snack" to hold us over until lunch then headed to Jackson. We got to Applebee's around 12:30 for lunch. The food was pretty good, not as good as the one in Starkville, but it was good. We then headed for the Coliseum. When we got there, we ran into Terry's cousin & his wife, William & Julie. We walked with them & met up with Aunt Pat, Uncle John, John, Jennifer and the kids. They were loading up the cows, getting ready to head back home. We walked over to the livestock barns. We saw calves, bulls and horses. We were looking for the pigs, goats & stuff but never found any. We enjoyed a funnel cake with chocolate on top & some things I never in my life thought I would ever try...fried oreos! They were the best! I want some now! Hmm...guess I'll have to find a recipe! Anyways, back to the story. Mrs. Delma bought Natalee a cowboy hat. She. Loves. It. We then saw some belts & they bought her one of those too. She needed one but I never could find one in her size. Now she has one. We proceeded to head inside the coliseum as show time was approaching. Boy was it crowded! Not too bad though. They finally got on with the show. I love rodeos and it was a great show. Natalee slept through most of it...until the band started playing at intermission. The singer for that day was Chris Young. He. was. awesome.! Natalee immediately woke! She was kind of scared at first but then she started dancing & clapping & having a great time. For the rest of the show, she kept getting excited. Everytime a cowboy would do something, she would yell "Yay!" and start clapping. It was too cute! We bought her this sword thing that lights up. She kept trying to hit the people in front of us with it so we had to take it away from her. We try to hide it at home sometimes so she can't hit us with it, but most of the time she points it at you and laughs! The show was over about 6:30. We waited in line in the parking lot sitting in the car, for about 30 minutes or so just to get to the main road. We stopped in Canton & ate at Arbys for supper. Natalee slept all the way home. We had a great day that day! It's great to get out of the house every once in a while & do something fun! I don't have pics uploaded onto the computer yet, but I'll try to this weekend!
Snow!
It hardly ever snows here in Mississippi. For the past 2 years we have only gotten snow on the first weekend of March. This past December it snowed twice...not much...a few flakes here & there. None of it stuck of course, but, hey...it was snow! Since the first of the year, we have had several chances of snow. Last week being the best chance. It started snowing Thursday night but stopped a little after midnight. When we woke up Friday morning, the ground was covered....not completely, there were a few spots of grass poking through. I did manage to get Natalee to "play" in it for a few minutes before we left for daycare & work. She didn't like the cold on her hands. The southern part of the state was covered. Some places got up to 6 inches! I know some people that live around the Jackson area or south of Jackson & I saw some of their pics & they were unbelievable!! I was really hoping we would get a bunch. We went to Jackson Saturday (will write that story in a different post) & there was still snow on the ground & on vehicles. Of course, most of it had turned to ice, but it still looked like snow! Sunday night it started snowing again. I'm not sure how long it snowed that night, Natalee & I was in the bed asleep by 10. Terry came to wake me up & tell me it was snowing. Monday morning when we woke up, the ground was covered again...about like the Friday before. This time though, we had more than Greenwood! I had more at my house than there was on the ground between my house & work (30/40 mile trip, including daycare). I talked to Terry about 2:15ish yesterday afternoon & he said it was snowing at the house. A few minutes later mom called & said it was snowing outside work! We had several "snow showers" pop up between 2:30 & 6. It snowed on me all the way home. When I got in the driveway, there were several patches in the yard. We still had a few patches this morning & on the hill along the gravel road we live on, even though it didn't snow anymore last night. This is the most it has snowed in Mississippi in a long time! I'll see if I can find some pics and post!

Bathtime Fun
Natalee just loves her bath time! We now give her a bath in our big bathtub. She has a lot more room to move around & she absolutely loves it. She also loves to turn the water on & let it run...when she is not in it. She has so many toys & more rubber ducks than anything. She loves her squirt toys, especially when daddy is around. She trys to squirt him, but usually it ends up in her face. Here are some pics from this past weekend!
WHO DAT?!? - Superbowl 2010
So yesterday was Superbowl Sunday. The New Orleans Saints vs. the Indianapolis Colts in Superbowl XLIV in Miami, Florida. Mom ALWAYS has a Superbowl party. It's tradition! Dustin went to his friends house. His friend is originally from New Orleans, so you can imagine what that party was like! Our good friends Jenn & Mike came to mom's to party with us. We had a smorgasbord of snacks: red pepper crackers, cheese, potato skins, fried green beans, cheeseball, brownies, taco dip & chips, hot wings, bbq cocktail smokies, pigs in a blanket & beer bread. I'm sure I forgot something but who could remember everything we had with all of that stuff! Of course EVERYONE was pulling for the Saints EXCEPT for Callaway. He of course is a Peyton Manning fan. Which, don't get me wrong I love the Colts too, but the Saints just needed to win! For me it was actually a win/win game, because they are both excellent teams! We bought Natalee a Drew Brees jersey. Isn't she cute?!?
Believe it or not I actually watched the game this year & not just for the commercials! Although I would have to say the Doritos commercials were the best! Especially the Doritos slap! "Don't mess with my mama & Don't mess with my Doritos!" The cutest!
Anywho....the final score ended up being Saints - 31 & Colts - 17! Way to GEAUX SAINTS!!! Here are some picture from the night!

Happy 90th Birthday Aunt Bell!!
We helped our Aunt celebrate her 90th birthday Saturday night. She only thought Debbie, Shane & the two kids were taking her to eat. Boy, was she surprised when she saw the rest of the family there!
We are really the only family she has. Her husband passed away before I was even born (I believe) & her son passed away several years ago, so we love to spend time with her & make sure she feels loved & not lonely.
We all went to the Crystal Grill in Greenwood. Brandi made this sign for her:

We all had a great time. Here are some more pics from the special night.

A Crazy Busy Weekend!
This past weekend was crazy busy. We had a full schedule Saturday & of course Sunday was Superbowl. Saturday morning Natalee & I went with mom, Brandi & granny to the Carrollton Community House to a soup tasting. We got to try 10 different types of soup & vote on our favorites. They had Black Eye Pea Soup, Tortilla Soup, Chicken & Cheese Soup, Roasted Red Pepper Soup, Ham & Bean Soup, Tomato Basil Bisque, Crock Pot Chili Mole, Sweet Potato Soup, Potato Soup & Peaches 'n Cream soup. My favorites were the Tortilla & Black Eye Pea. Some of the others were good, just not my favorites. Granny submitted the Chicken & Cheese Soup. It was delish! Tasted similar to Chicken Pot Pie. Natalee seemed to like the Peaches 'n Cream, which is the one that won. When we left there, we ran up to Dollar General to get a birthday present for a party we had later that night. Brandi went to warm the car up for us while Mom & I finished checking out. When we were walking toward the car, she proceeds to get out of the driver side & the door shuts behind her....it was locked...along with all of the other doors! We were locked out of my running car outside Dollar General in Carrollton in the freezing cold weather! We called the Sheriff's Dept & they said it would be 20 minutes, so we called Callaway (don't know why...he didn't have a key or anything!) then decided to call Bankston Wrecker Service. The Sheriff's Dept. got there within 10 minutes. So we called Callaway & he was already in Carrollton. Then we called the wrecker service...they didn't answer, but we met them as we were leaving. More posts to follow about the rest of the weekend!
