Weather

A couple of weeks ago, April 24 to be exact, we had some really bad weather here in Mississippi. A tornado touched down in Louisiana & traveled almost 200 miles. It was 1 3/4 mile wide. It went through Yazoo City, MS & destroyed a strip mall & several other buildings. So many people lost their homes. It ended up going through a small town called Weir. Two families lost their children, one a 6 month old little girl. There were 10/11 people who lost their lives from this massive tornado. Please pray for these families who lost loved ones & those who lost everything they had worked for.

Sickness...

Natalee started getting sick while we were at the zoo. It really wasn't anything bad, just allergies & sinus problems. Well it started getting worse, so Monday morning we were headed to the Walk-In clinic. She was diagnosed with an ear infection & sinus issues. She was put on antibiotics for 2 weeks. I stayed home with her that day and daddy & Irene kept her Monday night while I went to one of Dustin's last baseball games. They also kept her Tuesday so I could go back to work. Well after the ballgame Monday night, I started feeling bad. By Thursday it was real bad, so I went to the doctor. He told me it was viral (didn't say anything specific) and to go home & go to bed. Terry was working & mom's vehicle was tore up so I had to go back to work until 1, when Debbie got off. She took me home so mom could use my truck. I got on the couch & didn't move! It was daddy's birthday and Irene gave him a surprise party at Crystal Grill. Brandi took Natalee but I was so sad I couldn't go! Mom took Natalee to daycare for me Friday & Terry came home from work. Like Thursday, I didn't get off the couch! That Saturday, April 17, we were supposed to go to a crawfish cooking, but I was still too sick to go. Terry went because he was helping cook, which I didn't mind because we had this planned for several weeks & I didn't want to be the reason he didn't go. Anyways, I finally started feeling better & Monday I went back to work.
Well last weekend, Natalee got a yeast infection. She literally scratched a hole in her diaper Saturday night! So Sunday morning, we headed to the After Hours clinic. They gave us some cream, which did not seem to work. Since it wasn't any better by Thursday, we went back to the doctor. He prescribed her some different cream & by Thursday night it looked tons better. It was completely cleared up within 2 days! Now lets pray we are sickness free for a while!!!

A Beautiful Day!

I know it's been a while but I've had a good reason why I've been gone. Okay, not really but it sounded good! Saturday, April 10, Terry, Natalee & I picked up Ryan & Katie Lauren. We were heading to the zoo! We met up with Brandi & Byron in Southaven (they left earlier than we did) and ate lunch at Chili's. We then headed to Memphis. We had to find an alternate route, cause they had a wreck on the interstate. Great! We didn't know our way around that area, but we figured it out...with the help of Tom Tom! We finally made it about 1:30 and of course the parking lot was full & we had to park down the road. Natalee really enjoyed herself. She loved seeing all of the different animals & knew what the monkeys & fish were when we saw them. She got excited at every new thing. The meerkats look like my mom's chihuahua, Trixie, and when we got to them, Natalee started yelling, "Tixie, Tixie". I had to break her heart & tell her no that was not Trixie & no she could not play with them! The zoo has added a new exhibit called "Teton Trek". They have a big lodge, that I would die to have as a home, grizzly bears, elk and wolves. I got some good pictures of some of the animals. The Memphis Zoo is having a calendar contest where you can enter pics taken at the zoo from April 2009 through the first of May 2010. You can go to their website to enter your pics then on May 16 they will narrow it down to 5 for each category, then post those top 5 on their facebook page. The public will have a chance to vote on their 13 favorite pics, one for each month & one for the cover. I'll post the pics I entered along with some others of our day!
