Happy Valentine's Day!

We didn't do much for Valentine's this year. Terry had to work Saturday & Sunday and since Monday is a weekday, we decided to just stay home instead of going out & spending money. We did get to go out to eat last Friday night while Natalee stayed with the Mitchell's, so I guess you could count that as part of Valentine's. Terry got off Monday morning & of course, I had to work, so we didn't get to see each other til that afternoon.

Natalee had a cute dress she had gotten to long for, so she wore it as a shirt over a white turtleneck & a pair of black leggings to celebrate the day. She took some Valentine's cookies to daycare to share & she got each child (there's only 4) a little happy, along with getting Nanny & Pop a box of chocolates.

Natalee sporting her cute little outfit!

Terry & I had gotten Natalee a Minnie Mouse doll & a bag of M&Ms along with a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse card that sings & an Owl balloon. Her favorite thing was the card. She carried it around & kept opening & closing it, opening & closing it. I finally had to take it away from her because it was getting annoying! Aunt Debbie & her family got Natalee a little Valentine's dog & a bag full of candy! By the time she got home with it, she had eaten 3 Reese's pb cups & opened 2 suckers. Mind you, Debbie only lives 3 seconds down the road! MeMe & Papaw (Daddy & Irene) came over last Friday night and brought her a cute little outfit. It was a pair of red leggings with different color hearts on them & a Minnie Mouse shirt that says Hugs All Around. Nana & Papaw (mom & Callaway) gave her a huge chocolate chip cookie & some M&Ms. Mamaw & Papaw Mitchell (Terry's parents) gave her a chocolate chip cookie in a tin & a cute little card. Needless to say, she racked up in the sweets department!

Terry & I didn't get each other very much this year. We have decided the holidays are more for Natalee at our house then about us. He did get me 3 GORGEOUS gerbera daisies & a card & I got him his favorite candy & a card.

Aren't they beautiful? For those of you wondering why he didn't get me roses, gerbera daisies are my favorite!

Hope you all had a very Happy Valentine's Day!

Another Review!!

CSN stores contacted me about doing another review. Of course, I jumped at the offer & said yes!

If you remember, CSN stores has some of EVERYTHING!! They have anything from home office desks and other types of furniture to shoes.

I'm not real sure what I want to review on this time, but I'm thinking something for organization in Natalee's bathroom or maybe even something to help organize her room. We also need more space for our DVDs so I may even look into getting something like that. Who knows! There is so much to choose from! I'll let you know what I decide!

Another Snow Day

I think this is the most snow we have seen in Mississippi for as long as I can remember! Wednesday afternoon, around 1:00, it started snowing. I knew I should have left work around 2, but I stayed til 3:30 anyways. The snow hadn't let up any & it was coming down like crazy! The roads were not great but they really weren't that bad either. However, I'm not one to drive in that crazy mess. There were so many wrecks & people running off the road. I ended up sliding twice within 2 miles from work. I pulled over & called Terry to come get me! When he got to town, we took my truck back to one of the MedStat stations cause we knew it would be safe there. We finally made it home around 5:30. In that short of a time, we already had at least 3 inches! The snow kept coming down for about another 2 hours. All in all we had a total of anywhere from 4.5 - 5 inches. Terry had put a bowl outside so we could make some snow ice cream that night. It was my first time to ever make any & it was really good. I used Paula Deen's recipe which was super easy. You need 10-12 cups of snow, 1 can condensed milk & 1 tsp vanilla. Mix well & serve immediately! Natalee loved it! I got a few pics but not very many & of course I don't have my camera with me so I will have to post them later.

Yesterday I had to come into work. I wanted so badly to stay home with Natalee & build another "Toffee" the snowman, but work had to be done. The roads were not too bad. Terry brought mom & I in his truck & took my truck back home. Natalee stayed with granny & played with Ryan & Katie Lauren. They had so much fun! It's still a good bit on the ground today, but the sun is shining & it is actually supposed to get above freezing. Hopefully it won't all melt before tomorrow!

Nothing New

Just wanted everyone to know we are still alive. There hasn't really been anything "blogworthy" going on in our neck of the woods lately, so that's the reason for no new posts. It's not that I haven't had time or anything either, just that there is nothing to blog about in our world! Sucks!

I got my sewing machine out the other day. I looked at it. Yeah...that's about all that's been done. My grandmother came over to show me how to work it considering I have never used one before. We did get it threaded up & got part of a pattern cut out. I gotta get the pants cut out then maybe I'll actually try to get an outfit sewn.

We have all been sick. Terry & Natalee were both running a slight fever last Friday night. Natalee had a horrible cough. Saturday they were both feeling better. Natalee's cough had mostly gone away & Terry was back to himself. Saturday night...I started coughing! I was so sick Sunday night & Monday, all I did was stay on the couch & get some rest. I was back at work Tuesday, still not 100% but a lot better than I was Monday! The good part about me being sick is in the last 3 days I have hardly eaten anything & I have already lost 4.2 lbs.! Now if I could just keep losing!

I was reading Natalee a Dora birthday book the other night. There was a section where you count the stars. Of course, the book was counting in Spanish. I asked Natalee if she could count like Dora & she can! She can count to 3 just fine in Spanish then she goes to 5 then back to 4. She knows the words...just not the correct order, just yet!

That's about all going on in our part of the world. Just living life...working, paying bills, & playing! Hope you have a great day!
