Terry, Natalee & I went on a mini vacay with The Mitchell's the weekend of August 20-22. We went to see Yogi Bear at Jellystone Park in Pelahatchie, MS. We rented a really nice cabin for the two nights. It had 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, a loft & a deck on the back. It was perfect for the 5 of us. After we got settled Friday, we changed & went to the splash pad. It was perfect for Natalee. They had a couple of slides, a water tower that dumped water, a couple of "jungle gym" type things. They also had a pool beside it. Natalee loved the slide. She didn't care for the tower so much, especially since it made a loud sound right before it dumped the water, which was every 10 minutes. We played around in the water for about an hour. Then went to the playground for a few minutes. We decided to head back to the cabin to eat & change clothes so we could go to the outdoor movie theater. They were playing Cars that night. Natalee last all of about 10-15 minutes, so we decided to just go back to the cabin. The next morning when we woke up, Terry & Mr. Roger had gone to the "Ranger's Station". They came back with a surprise for Natalee....a golf cart. She loves to ride the golf cart & they decided that so we wouldn't have to load up in the truck every time we wanted to go somewhere, they would just rent one. Saturday, we went to meet Yogi Bear. He was at the flag pole every morning about 9:30. Natalee didn't like him. She kept saying "He care (scare) me". I did manage to get a picture of me & Natalee with Yogi, but she is looking the other way. After that, we went to the arts & crafts building. We made Natalee a sheriff's badge, which was the free craft for the day. We also colored her a t-shirt. She wanted to help, but I didn't want her to mess it up, so Terry & I did it for her. After that, we went to the cafe & ate lunch. We got a pizza which was really really good & some nachos. We then decided to head back & change clothes so we could go to the splash pad. First we went to the penny hunt on the beach. The employees through pennies in certain areas of the sand. This was just for toddlers, so there were not very many people there. Natalee found about 15 cents. She cashed them in & got a toy & some candy. We played in the water for several hours. Terry & I decided to go riding around the campground on the golf cart. When we came back, Natalee, Mr. Roger & Mrs. Delma were no where to be found. They were out back of the cafe enjoying a big bowl of ice cream!! Terry & I got some too! We played for a little while longer. We decided about 4:00 to head back to the cabin. They had a costume contest in the arts & crafts building and since it was "Western Weekend", you were to dress in your best cowboy/cowgirl clothes. Luckily, I went prepared as I did not know anything about this until we got there Friday & was given an agenda of what was going on over the weekend. I had Natalee dressed in her Wrangler jeans, her pink western belt with her name on it, her boots, her cowgirl hat & a cute little shirt. Natalee was the only one to participate besides a little boy, so they both won prizes! They got a toy trophy & a small toy. We then went on a hayride around the campground. Natalee was so tired! She fell asleep while riding! When we got back to the cabin, she was wide awake! We fixed us some hamburgers & watched a little tv. We were all wore out, but still decided to go for a little ride. It was the perfect night. It wasn't too hot & there were hardly in bugs out. Sunday morning, we got up & got to packing. After we checked out, we decided to go to the zoo on our way home. There was not very many people there so it wasn't too bad, except for the heat! We saw the new addition they added and the elephants one last time before they were moved to Nashville. All in all we had a great weekend. Can't wait to go back for more Yogi time!
(Pictures will be posted later today or sometime this weekend! They are not on this computer at work...sorry).
